Super Mom: Dealing with the Stress for First Time Mommies

Super Mom: Dealing with the Stress for First Time Mommies

Motherhood is such a rewarding experience. You created such a beautiful being. Everything about them is perfect. But, it can be scary. Especially for first-time mothers. You may have find yourself asking, "What if I do it wrong?"

Some say that if you start worrying than you are carrying. Here are a few tips to consider to help you after giving birth to a bundle of joy for the first time.

Don't be Afraid to Have Some Me Time

It's only natural to put your baby first, as you should. But that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with caring for yourself, too. Don't neglect yourself.

If you don't have any helpers at home to relieve you from mommy duties, make the most out of your baby's nap time. Yes, it is ideal to watch over your precious baby even if he or she is asleep but you have to take that opportunity to have your very own 'me' time. In the long run, you will thank yourself for it.

Stretching yourself too thin too regularly can lead to exhaustion. Have a movie on-hand to watch, get in some exercise, have a satisfying bath, give yourself a mani/pedi, or take a nap, too. Whatever it is that will allow you to breathe and relax, do it while the little angel is asleep.

Take Care of Your Lower Back

Your lower back ligaments are stretched during your pregnancy, not to mention the muscles are pulled forward as your child grows inside. After giving birth, your back could usually benefit from some TLC. Embrace exercises which your lower back could benefit from.

Helping your back get into tip-top shape will help you feel better, boost confidence, and support you to be the best mom that you can be.

Do Not be Afraid to Ask for Help

If help is available, do not be afraid to ask for it. Maybe you have a friend, a trusted neighbor, or a family member who is willing to help you take care of your baby. Take advantage of it.

Do not deprive yourself with the things you used to do before you welcomed your babe into the world. Allow your trusted contacts to babysit your child for a few hours so you could take a rest or unwind with a few friends or go out on a date with the hubby.

These activities could help you realign and have a sound mind. Your baby knows when you are stressed. Relaxing when you can creates an infinite loop of happy mom, happy baby.

Do Some Planning

Set goals to get little rewards out of each day. Write out your plans or routines for the day or the week. Plan some meals, a workout routine, work, errands, family activities, etc. Balance your time between mommyhood and self-wellness.

While planning out your routine, don't forget a schedule for your little one as well. Babies love routine. Strategize the perfect nap, bath, and feeding time.

As a mother, it is normal to get stressed from time-to-time. You're a mom. You're the center of someone's universe. Understand that stress is normal and don't allow it to overwhelm you. Balance your life in harmony with your child's. Balancing "me time" with motherhood will lead to a healthy, happy life for both you and your family.

Congrats on being a mom. You rock!

Welcoming the New Year with the 2016 Collection

The year is almost over. But before we enter the gates of 2016, let us first express our heartfelt appreciation to all of you, our loyal custo

mers. You've been with us since our Etsy days! Thank you for the continued support. You. Are. Awesome.

Necklace Highlight of 2015

For the year 2015, we launched a collection of amazing, non-toxic teething necklaces of different shaped beads and colors. These adored long necklaces have become a fashion statement as much as they are functional.

During 2015, our The Little Miss Dainty Teething Necklace , which came in tropical teal and red colors and octagon-shaped beads, is now sold out. Thanks to you guys.

Most of our 2015 teething jewelry collection have necklaces that run all the way from one end to another. With our 2016's, however, we created designs that have no beads on the neckline, amplifying mom's comfort.

Little Teether's 2016 Collection

So far, the 2016 collection has six designs to choose from:

Amore Teething Necklace - Heart-shaped chew beads that are available in various colors such as cranberry, slate, aqua, lush mauve, tropical teal, and white.

Brave Teething Necklace - A combination of round and heart-shaped chewable beads that come in three combinations of two colors. One combination is jet black and aqua, another is tropical teal and slate, and the last one is navy and petal pink.

Chic Teething Necklace - These nursing baby beads are shaped like pebbles of different sizes and colors. Check out this breastfeeding chew necklace in combos of jet black and white, slate and latte, and the mint and powder smoke duo.

Classic Teething Necklace - Round-shaped chew beads of varying sizes. Our Classic teething necklace comes in lush mauve, aqua, slate, and pink petal colors.

Geo Teething Necklace - Geometric baby beads, anyone? Options include jet black, cranberry, slate, lush mauve, pink petal, mint, navy, powder smoke, lilac, latte, and multicolor.

Glam Teething Necklace - This silicone teething jewelry has varying bead shapes and a combination of two colors per necklace; jet black and white, lilac and mint, slate and aqua, as well as coral and slate.

These new designs have the same functionality and safety features like the ones in 2015, but with more options and improved comfort. All can be used as accessories either for casual outings or semi-formal events.

As with all Little Teether products, our silicone teething jewelry is non-toxic. Not to mention, they're tough, too. So when baby tugs hard on the necklace, which you know they will do, you won't have to worry. Our necklaces are designed for safety and comfort, and the breakaway clasp will ensure longevity in your investment in chewable silicone necklaces from Little Teether.

Thank you for an amazing 2015, and for what already looks like will be an amazing 2016. Happy New Year!

National Re-gifting Day

National Re-gifting Day

They say that National Re-gifting Day started as a joke. But now, here we are, preparing to regift something. Whether you formally regift on Re-gifting Day or just address it as needed, there's no denying that most of us embrace this idea from time-to-time. Is it true that re-gifting saves money and time instead of purchasing new gifts?

Avoid the awkwardness of re-gifting and give the gift that any woman would love. (Brace yourself. Self-promotion is coming in.) Little Teether teething necklaces!

Little Teether Necklaces for Moms

A lot of mothers want to look great with fashion statement pieces but are afraid that their active little one will break their necklace. Satisfy mom and baby and introduce them to the world of teething jewelry from Little Teether.

Versatile and Safe Teething Necklaces

Our chewable nursing necklaces come in a variety of chewable bead sizes, shapes, and colors. Colorful and innovative, you will find our products versatile with any outfit or occasion, from shopping and date night to semi-formal events or just relaxing around the house.

What good is fashion and functionality without safety? Our chewable jewelry comes equipped with breakaway clasps that pop off when mini-Hulk tugs too hard. Furthermore, our new designs feature the "no beads on the neckline," making the necklaces snag free. We also pride our chewable necklaces on their quality control.

  • non-toxic

  • food-grade

  • BPA-free

  • free of phthalates, lead, cadmium, and heavy metals

Our teething necklaces and baby chew beads are tested twice, once by our manufacturer, and once by a 3rd party USA testing facility.

A teething jewelry for a present? Yes, fashion and functionality are two things that any mother would love.

Parenting with the Kennedys

Parenting with the Kennedys

The Christmas Day Priority Mail 2-Day shipping deadline has officially passed in all United States time zones!
Hopefully, you have successfully sent out all gifts to your loved ones around the country!
It is so exciting to receive gifts at your door during the holidays and it is comforting to know that somebody thought of you this holiday, no matter how small or large the Christmas gesture!
Last night, I made two trips to the central Phoenix post office; immediately after workouts at 6:30pm, and another right before closing time at 9:30pm.
It is so great that they keep one post office open so late in this Southwestern town!
Every time I vist the post office I feel as though I am taken back in time. Although the United States Post Office has evolved technologically, there is still a part of it that will retain old American history and the dream of expansion through communication.

If any of you all remember playing The Oregon Trail or the Yukon Trail in grade school, then you will understand the importance of the posts in the small towns along the way. The post office kept small growing towns alive. Without the post office, America would not be as amazing and expansive as it is today.

Well, fortunately for us, we don't have to wait weeks or months to get supplies or gifts from our loved ones. It is incredible that it only takes an average of two days to get something across the country and to a very specific door. Americans now even have robots working at the post office! Self-service stations aka "robots" are extremely beneficial and help move the postal line along much faster. In my first trip to the post office tonight I used the robotic system. It was helpful and easy to use; however, I enjoyed my second trip much better because there is truly nothing better than face to face communication!
Although I only had one package to ship in the second round, I only had cash to ship it. The United States Post Office "robots" do not accept cash yet in Arizona. I knew how long the line was to send my package the old fashioned way from my previous trip, so I brought my packing materials with me...
Scissors, tape, shiny wrapping paper, the gifts, and a old box...
I sat on the floor in the back of the line and started wrapping gifts. I was immediately and very kindly offered help with wrapping my box by a beautiful stranger.
I gladly accepted the help because wrapping gifts left handed is difficult by yourself.  As my new found friend and I were wrapping the gifts, another woman leaving the post office commented how she loved how we were working down to the last wire!
Teamwork makes the dream work & every last minute counts.
As the woman leaving walked out, another woman walked in carrying a large tote full of goodies to send out! We assured the newcomer that the line was moving fast.  Somehow, when you get three ladies together it becomes a party...even if you are perfect strangers!
As I wrapped gifts for a loved one with a perfect stranger, we welcomed another perfect stranger into our conversation. It was a good moment. The newcomer told us that she was sending out everything glamorous and glitzy! She ran an online skin care company along with a couple other websites. She joked about my scissors protecting us against this grumpy man, in the back of the line, in the case he went "postal".
We all laughed. He was upset that the Post Office Boxes were not big enough to fit his packages. He claimed that the whole point of having a post office box was that you could access your mail and packages at any time. I understood where he was coming from. Apparently he only comes into town occasionally because he works on the road non-stop and probably lives in a different hotel every night; what a life. Hopefully soon they can make robotic package retriever to work the hours when nobody else wants to.

My two new friends and I waited in that line for an hour and a half, but the time flew by. We talked about family and work. I told them about Little Teether. One of the women excitedly  remembered the first picture in which she believes to have inspired the chewable teething necklaces that we now design at Little Teether!

The woman mentioned how she will never forget the photos of the Kennedy family; especially the one with the baby and pearls. We fell in love with the photos of the young Kennedy family and thought that we would share them with you.
I am dedicating this post to my new friends made at the United States Post Office last night. Thank you for expanding my mind and for sharing a memory of your childhood. It is awesome that in seconds I can relieve the moments that gave you joy growing up a few generations before me. Technology has definitely changed the world and the way we communicated, but in a lot of ways it has truly helped us remember some of the most golden ages of our country.
Thank you to the many devoted historians and collectors who have compiled these beautiful photos that give us insight into the joys of parenthood from another era.

Sending love to you and your family!
Little Teether

Train Like An Angel 'til the New Year!

Train Like An Angel 'til the New Year!

Good Morning and Happy Friday!

With Christmas exactly one week away, the excitement of the holiday is building exponentially!

Relatives may begin to arrive later today or you may be jumping on a plane to visit loved ones that you rarely get to spend time with! You could still be hustling around to buy presents to ship out to loved ones you will not see during the holidays this year.

Whatever you are doing today, and for the rest of the week, we're assuming that you are going to be extra busy.

You may even be so busy that you will forget to take time to think about your needs for the day. Your mind may become completely occupied with taking care of everyone else that you forget to make yourself a priority ['tis the season!].

At Little Teether we do not want you to become so consumed in the needs of others that you forget yourself. We want you to feel well taken care of and supported. We want you to be your best self so that you can be the best parent for your little one. Becoming your best self as a parent begins with putting your needs as a parent before the needs of your child.

If you are a young mom, this time of the year can be especially challenging with regard to finding a balance between taking care of baby's needs, your parenting partner's needs, your extended families' needs, your friends needs, your business duties, etc.

One thing that will help you find a balance for satisfying everybody's needs is putting your needs first, this means putting your health and wellbeing in front of everyone else's in your world.

Many mothers make the mistake of sacrificing literally everything that they once did selfishly for themselves in order to be available to their baby. As great as it may seem, being available to your child at all times is not sustainable, nor is it necessarily healthy for the mother or the baby.

As a mother, you must maintain some degree of selfishness. One perfect degree of selfishness is exercise. All new moms, young moms, old moms, grandmoms, great-grandmoms, etc need to be exercising. Why?

Exercising will allow you to keep up with your kids in the future, it will help you look better and it will slow the signs of aging. Exercising will boost your mood and lower your anxiety. It will improve your metabolism so that you don't have to fret about what you eat and exercise will help you sleep better at night!

For the rest of 2015, Little Teether wants to challenge you to Train Like An Angel with one of our favorite Victoria's Secret angels, Lily Aldridge!

All you need is a laptop connected to wifi, a yoga mat, about nine square feet, some water, comfy sweats, a sports bra, and 20 minutes each day for the next two weeks!

If you're lucky, you may even get the whole family to join in on these angel inspired workouts. You may even start a new and healthy holiday tradition with your fabulous fitness moves.

Tag us in your photos on Instagram and Facebook using #LittleTeether or @LittleTeether to keep us updated on your fitness progress!

We hope that this challenge inspires you to put yourself and your health first so that you can be the best mama for your little one!
